Repeated Reading Just Got Fun
If you haven’t yet heard the big news…
Lyrics2Learn is launching a video-based, multi-sensory fluency feature that allows kids to see their weekly improvement via video. It allows teachers to set goals, send individualized feedback, track cold and hot reads, and automatically track progress monitoring. We’re changing the fluency game by making repeated, choral, and modeled reading fun for kids, and quick and easy for educators to track and analyze student data.
We are now offering free school pilots to any school from April 18th through the end of the school year.
In this program:
- Kids work through engaging, choral, modeled, and repeated reading lessons independently,
- Teachers save time and gain flexibility through fluency video recordings and automated data,
- Personalized fluency feedback is automatically sent directly to students,
- Cold and hot read progress is tracked each week,
- Teachers receive monthly benchmarking and progress data, and
- You even have the option to automatically send progress charts and reading improvement videos to each student’s parent or guardian.
Most importantly,
Our new fluency video feature allows kids to take reading improvement into their own hands. Fluency instruction has always been time-intensive for teachers–and boring for kids! This often takes the enjoyment out of reading and increases student reluctance to read; we’re changing that.
Check out what the founder of Lyrics2Learn has to say:
The research is conclusive–kids need repeated reading!
One of the most impactful components of 1st-6th grade literacy instruction is often neglected, and that’s reading fluency. Reading fluency is an essential part of the Science of Reading (SOR).
The National Reading Panel has evaluated hundreds of research studies and concluded that:
Guided repeated, choral, and modeled reading had a SIGNIFICANT impact on word recognition, fluency, and comprehension in nearly every grade and test measurement. To learn more about reading fluency and proven reading strategies check out this post from Jeremy Spartz, founder of L2L.
So, when will this new feature be available?
It’s available now!
If you are interested in piloting our brand new, Lyrics2Learn Fluency video record feature, let us know! We will constantly test and improve this feature over the next few months to get it ready for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year.
